Dolan Bros, St. John. NB-77.
There are two variants of this Dolan quart.
This is the rarer of the two. The street number appears higher in the outside edge of the transfer and the TRADE MARK appears in an arch above the star. The Munderloh mark is both transferred and incised. The condition of this bottle is very good. The glaze is clean though there is some scratching. There is a large patch of underglaze rust stain in the back (fortunately!). A long line of rough pottery that is glazed runs vertically off the left side of the transfer. There are a couple of flakes from the base that were caused when the bottle was separated from the potter's wheel.
A very nice example of a tough bottle.
Opening Bid: $100
Estimated Range: $200-300
Sold for $110
