Geo Kickley, Guelph. ON-45.
This Guelph Bottling Works pint ginger beer is extremely rare bottle from a highly collectible town. The transfer is well designed and attractive.
This example has been heavily repaired. The job is quite good making it difficult to tell the extent of the damage. Nearly all of the tan top has been overpainted. There was at least one serious crack that ran across the face of the transfer. Some of the transfer has been redone. The base edge has also received some work. At a glance it appears near mint but the repairs are extensive.
Opening Bid: $120
Estimated Range: $180-250
Sold for $120

PA Milloy, Montreal. QC-21
A very nice example of a Milloy from Montreal. This bottle is very near mint. There are a couple of glaze deep hairlines in the blob and neck. These barely warrant mentioning. There are a few tiny separation marks on the base edge. It would be hard to find a better example.
Opening Bid: $75
Estimated Range: $100-150
Sold for $180

Pacific Dry, Vancouver. BC-27.
This is a great example of the Pacific Dry ginger beer. It is near mint. The glaze looks like new. There are few imperfections in the lip. There is a tiny flake, a crescent shape hairline that wants to be a chip, and a couple of tiny spots that did not get glazed. Displays perfect and looks terrific!
Opening Bid: $100

Terris Group Lot, Saint John. NB-91, 93, 98.
This lot includes three different Terris bottles. An attractive set. The quart is in good condition. There is one large flake on the lip that has been poorly filled. There is a bit of underglaze rust and discolouration, but not too bad. There is a 1/2 inch hairline and small chips on base.
The tan top pint with the flower is a rare bottle in heavily repaired condition. This one looks like the top was off. The repair is very poor and sloppy. Still a chance to get a rare bottle for a bargain.
The pint blue top has a chip in the lip and the glaze is a bit scuffed up.
Opening Bid: $50
Estimated Range: $75-$100
Sold for $80

Terris Group Lot, Saint John. NB-95, 97, 98.
This group lot includes three variants of pint size Terris bottles. A nice trio.
The blue top with the leaf trademark is a rare bottle. This example is in poor condition. A large chip in the lip has been badly repaired. There is a long hairline that begins in the blue neck and travels down the right side of the body beside the transfer. This hairline is very fine. Despite the damage this one displays pretty well.
The tan top Terris is a near mint bottle with no damage. The second blue top (far right) has a small chip in the lip but is otherwise good.
Opening Bid: $50
Estimated Range: $75-$100
Sold for $170 |

Mixed Lot. NB-87, NB-78, NS-70.
This lot includes three pint ginger beers.
The Francis Drake is a common but highly attractive bottle. Aside from a stopper hole flake this one is in very good condition.
The blue top Dolan is a scarce bottle in good condition. It has some scrapes and scuffs but no damage.
The McIntyre & Townsend is poor. It was covered in lacquer to hide a long hairline crack that bisects the bottle down the right side. Over time the lacquer has deteriorated and darkened making the bottle appear tan coloured when it should be cream. A spot has been scraped clean on the shoulder at the back. Messy. A good lot for a beginner or store stock.
Opening Bid: $50
Estimated Range: $75-$100

Sussex Mineral Springs, Sussex. NB-111, 113.
This lot includes a pair of Sussex Mineral Springs bottles.
The one on the left is a scarce variant with "Ld" marked. This example has a large chip off the back right side of the lip. Aside from a few imperfections it is otherwise in good condition and displays well. The stopper is original and marked.
The one on the right is a common bottle in uncommonly good condition. Very small chip in the lip (visible in the photo) but otherwise perfect. Very clean bottle. Original stopper but very faded.
Opening Bid: $50
Estimated Range: $75-100
Sold for $130

There is some heavy rust on the base. The 1898 McKee has a large chip off the base and a large separation mark. Some underglaze stain. An attractive grouping.

Far left back - large chip in the lip that has not popped out. Some underglaze stain and dark marks from burial. Second from left front - large chip off base edge at back and some rubs from burial. Tight two inch hairline across transfer. Front with heavy shoulder - small lip chip in rear otherwise near mint. Second from right front - near mint save for some rust and rubs from burial. Back far left - large hairline crack and potstone.
Opening Bid:$50
Estimated Range: $75-100
Sold for $110

Nova Scotia Lot. NS-43, 79, 70.
This lot includes three Nova Scotia pint ginger beers. The W. Gibbons has a highly attractive transfer. This is a very clean bottle with a number of issues. There is some lip roughness. There is a one inch long glaze hairline at the front and a three inch glaze hairline at the rear. A thin section of the base edge is missing - sort of like a long flake. Despite these problems the bottle looks good and displays well. The Havelock has several long hairlines that travel down the left side of the bottle. There is some heavy rust. The lip has a tiny chip.
Despite being dug the glaze is rather clean. The base is near perfect. The Drake has a lip chip and a stopper hole flake but otherwise is good. A great dealer lot!
Opening Bid:$50
Estimated Range: $75-100
Sold for $95
