Canada Compass Pint. Red Book #554.
This is a superb example of a very rare Canada Compass pint. The glass colour is a pale but bright green.
Attic mint condition! A sparkler! Clean ground lip. Perfect body gloss. Three lines in the glass on the left side. These are simply mould effects that are nearly as heavy as the seam lines. Original domed lid. Large burst bubble in the lid but otherwise mint.
Certainly one of the best pints in the sale!
Opening Bid: $750
Estimated Range: $1,000-1,500
Sold for $800.

Canada Compass Half Gallon. Red Book #554.
An extremely crude example of a scarce half gallon size Canada Compass jar.
The glass was raw the day this baby was made! Full of bubbles. Orange peel like texture. Pockmarks and swirls galore. Excellent condition. Two potstones on the front. One just below the second A in Canada. Around the white postone is a three petal shaped bruise. The second potstone is just to the left and down from the word Trademark. At centre is a white potstone out from which is a tight star shaped crack and a 1/4 inch bruise. The lip is very roughly ground with one 1/2 inch long flake.
While technically damaged on account of the potstones, this is clearly in-manufacture and only to be expected given the highly crude quality of the glass. Domed insert with concentric circles - near mint.
A gorgeous jar with character to spare!
Opening Bid: $400
Estimated Range: $700-800
Sold for $600.

Canada Compass Quart. Red Book #554.
A nice example of the quart size Canada Compass.
The right side has a distinct dent and the glass has a slightly orange peel quality which gives the jar some character. Excellent condition. Well ground lip with three flakes each about 1/4 inch. Nice clean aqua glass. The embossing is a bit faint as it is on most of these jars. Domed glass insert in mint condition.
Opening Bid: $300
Estimated Range: $500-$600
Sold for $300.

Coronet Half Gallon. Red Book #658.
Sometimes a bit of inpurity in the glass makes a big difference.
This dark amethyst half gallon Coronet is a perfect example. Running down the face and into the crown is the most amazing heavy milk glass swirl. A band of this milkglass spins round the middle of the jar. Spectacular!
This is the variant of the Coronet where you can clearly see that a more elaborate crown top was peened out. Beautiful clean glass with many large round bubbles. Amethyst plain lid with large 3/4 inch bruise. Unpriced in the Red Book.
Ex. Ken Judges Collection. Originally purchased in an antique store in Northern, Ontario.
Nice find!
Opening Bid: $400
Estimated Range: $600-800
Lot not sold.
