No Dot Crown Midget Pint. Red Book #672.
The "No Dot" Crown midget pint is one of the rarest and most sought after of the small size Crowns. A ground lip jar believed by some to be the earliest variant. This specimen is near mint. The lip is very roughly ground. In fact, about a third of the lip is barely ground at all - having been left quite jagged. Where the right-hand seam meets the lip, there is a 3/4 inch section of the fine ground lip that is missing. Call this a shallow chip if you will, but the lip on either side is not ground at all. The jar is otherwise perfect with a great gloss. Probably tumbled clean. Matching odd size lid and insert. Both excellent. A great example of a tough little jar!
Opening Bid: $300
Estimated Range: $500-600

Anchor Midget Pint. Red Book #77.
Anchor midget pints are hard to find.
This lovely little one has gone a nice light amethyst colour. Good condition. There is an odd flaw in the threading. A small chip, 1/4 inch, has been sanded smooth. The sanding covers two bands for nearly two inches. This chip and sanding is at the front of the jar, obviously hidden when the lid is on.
Otherwise the jar is in very nice condition. The early machine-made lip has the usual roughness and tiny fractures. The glass itself quite clean and full of tiny seed bubbles.
Ex. Ken Judges Collection.
Opening Bid: $150
Estimated Range: $200-300
Sold for $180.

Dominion Midget Pint Aqua. Red Book #799.
A mate to the previous lot.
This Dominion midget pint is so pale you would be excused for calling it colourless. But it is definitely a light aqua glass. Excellent condition. Heavy ground lip with two small flakes on the outside edge - 1/8 inch each. On the right inside edge is an area of very shallow flaking that runs about 3/4 of an inch. Light internal stain.
Some nice swirls in the glass. Plain insert in perfect shape.
