About Maple Leaf Auctions...

Scott Wallace

Scott Wallace has been collecting, dealing and auctioning a wide range of Canadian antiques for over 20 years, including: stoneware and redware, decoys, tins, advertising, lighting, clocks and furniture. In 2002, Scott and Phil Culhane co-authored two books on Canadian bottles: Transfer Printed Ginger Beers of Canada and Primitive Stoneware Bottles of Canada.

Phil Culhane

Phil Culhane has been collecting for 35 years, and has probably sold more Canadian Ginger Beer bottles than anyone else, having represented the collections of Dave Perch, Larry Machum, Les James, Harry Little, Reed Bricker and Mat Harris, among others. He has auctioned the single most expensive transfer-printed ginger beer in Canada (at that time, in the world), the Emack Bros. from Fredericton that sold for over $9,600.

Phil has authored and published numerous books, magazines and magazine articles. He has been published in bottle magazines in the UK, the USA and Australia, and published Canadian Bottle & Stoneware Collector magazine from 1992-1995 and 2002-2005, 24 issues and over 700 pages of information about Canadian bottles, stoneware and related memorabilia. With Scott Wallace, Phil authored and published two books, Transfer Printed Ginger Beers of Canada and Primitive Stoneware Bottles of Canada. Phil has also published four historical bottle books on behalf of other authors in Canada.

Phil has run absentee auctions since 1994, when he started Canadian Bottle & Stoneware Collector Auctions (CB&SC Auctions). In 1996, he changed the name to glassCo Auctions. In 2006, when Phil and Scott started running auctions together, they rebranded the absentee auction company Maple Leaf Auctions - the company you see today!
